It’s the fastest growing and second-largest mobile phone market in the world. In some cities there are more mobile phone subscriptions than inhabitants. 620 million of its people are connected and it still has the lowest mobile phone penetration of any market in the world. It’s only the beginning.

Over 50 million of its people use a mobile social network called MXit. Tutors use it to help kids with math. Social media changes the way humans interact. Mobile extends the reach of interactions. “Mobile Social” is becoming The Tao of Sub-Saharan Africa which finds itself ironically on the cutting-edge of a transformation in education.
