Today 2.5 billion people tweet, post, and share thoughts in real time—without ever speaking a word. Such is the strange power of the cloud and social technology. Surely such power can help us make the world a better place. But Ernesto Sirolli’s TED presentation reminds us that the six most dangerous words in any language is always, “I want to make a difference.” His advice? Shut up and listen.

In a world where everyone can silently tweet, post, and text—is it possible we’ll all forget how to listen?
